holy spirit novenaWe’re excited to announce that the next novena we’re praying is the original novena!

Novenas are an ancient tradition that goes back to the days of the Apostles.

Jesus told His disciples to pray together after His ascension into heaven, so they went to an upper room along with the Blessed Virgin Mary, (Acts 1:14) and joined constantly in prayer for nine days.

These nine days of constant prayer by the Apostles at the direction of Jesus led up to Pentecost. This is when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples as “tongues of fire” (Acts 2:1-4). This pattern of 9 days of prayer is the basis of the novenas we pray today.

Thus, the novena is an imitation of the Lord’s command to the Apostles when they prayed for 9 days in anticipation of the coming of the Holy Spirit.

So maybe you can guess by now that the next novena we’re praying is The Pentecost Novena!

The Holy Spirit plays a BIG part in our lives.

So, as we pray, ask the Holy Spirit for something concrete and measurable.

We will start praying on May 11th!

You can sign up to pray with us HERE.

We’re looking forward to praying with you and for you!

God bless you!

  9. May 6, 2018
Question: Pentecost is Sunday May 20, 2018 I was wondering why so early-May 6th for the Pentecost Novena…..Our Lady of Fatima Novena I was looking forward to on You Tube but instead received this one this morning. I am wondering since it will be a few days before Pentecost Sunday. I am doing the Our Lady of Fatima Novena on my own.

  10. Dear Holy Spirit
As always, I begin by asking you to answer the prayers of all who pray this novena.
I have come to learn of a deception practiced upon my husbands business without his knowledge. I am asking that he can overcome this and move on, become stronger and be able to change the course caused by destructive behavior. I pray also for our financial stability during precarious time. I also pray for good health for my family, especially my husband and brother and daughter.
I pray for her success and safety during her fellowship abroad and her return to her spirituality and for her heart.

  11. I’m excited for this, but Pentecost is May 20th. Isn’t May 6th a bit early? I guess I expected you guys to start May 11th?

  12. Just found out yesterday that my husband got the full-time position he applied for. Praise the Lord! Thank you for hearing my prayer, and thank you, Mary, Undoer of Knots, for your intercession!
