A liturgical novena is one that is prayed in cooperation with the liturgical calendar. This type of novena leads up to an important feast of the Church. It generally ends the day before the feast.
A novena is a really great way to prepare spiritually for the major feasts of the Church.

I am so excited to find this site! I have been asking priests and buying incomplete novena for years.
I have had a strong call to pray novenas for the past several years.
I keep thinking, it’s like if Jesus were standing in the middle of a huge crowded stadium and everyone was shouting different requests for Him; He wouldn’t be able to hear anyone. But if they all shouted the SAME thing at once He couldn’t help but hear them!
It just makes a lot of sense to me!

I’d love to see the Novena to the Holy Face of Jesus added to your website. This is one of my all time favorite Novena’s. It ends on Shrove Tuesday each year and is a great way to prepare for Lent:

Im requesting prayer for a grandson of a friend with serious fast spreading cancer in his leg. Can this be included in the Christmas novena for new life?
(1) My landlady would like to purchase a new home that is currently getting ready to be listed. It’s closer to my church and would allow me to perform my duties as a sacristan for less wear and tear on my car.
(2) I want my social security to not be hindered in any way (I’ll be 62 in December).
(3) I would like to see an Anglican Use Parish established in Nashville. We have an interest group, but things are going very slow, and no one is telling us why.
(4) Pray Mr. Romney will consecrate himself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of Heaven, and Conqueror of All Heresies.
I pray for resignation to your will, Lord, and submission to those you put in my life. I pray for peace in frustration and irritations. I pray for Your will and for complete resignation to it. I pray to be united with you and not to be attached to things in this world. I pray not to become bogged down in the struggle. Blessed Mother, please pray for me.
