To celebrate Pentecost, the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Church, we are going to pray the Holy Spirit Novena! It is a powerful and moving novena that is meant to help us open ourselves up to the third person of the Holy Trinity.
Even though we pray this novena as a preparation for the feast of Pentecost, you can also pray a novena to the Holy Spirit any time that you want.

About the Holy Spirit Novena
This particular novena was written specifically for PrayMoreNovenas.com and it is based on the Fruits of the Holy Spirit and a desire for sainthood.

My granddaughter quit her bar job. Thank you Holy Spirit for answering my prayer. I pray for peace for her and a new job. Give me the patience I need to guide her.
I prayed to the Holy Spirit for debt relief and it has been happening slowly, but happening. I have been praying for my husband to get the job he recently interviewed for but we are still waiting to hear, but I have faith and will continue to pray as this is all part of our debt relief and financially situation.

This Novena and the Holy Spirit helped me in a most beautiful way this week. I faced a difficult choice this week on whether to take a job in San Francisco or Seattle; both were wonderful opportunities but very different. I felt I would have to rely on God to make the right choice – what BETTER timing than during Pentecost week, and what a PERFECT reminder from Pray More Novenas that the Holy Spirit can and wants to help!
I had to make a decision by Saturday – the day before Pentecost – and asked God to share with me a sign: a red rose for Seattle, or a white rose for San Francisco. Throughout the week I talked with various mentors, etc., and continued praying…and though I hadn’t gotten a flower yet, I started to feel convicted that SF was the right choice – enough so that on Saturday afternoon, I called and accepted.
Now, up to here I hadn’t gotten the flower, but I still trusted God to somehow use it to help guide me. Well, I went to a close friend’s wedding that afternoon, and when we lined up for the bouquet toss, guess what literally fell straight into my open hands: a bouquet of all white lillies and roses. What a generous affirmation to receive from the Holy Spirit on the eve of Pentecost.

I have been praying for my husband’s and son’s conversion to Jesus, the Catholic Church and for their guidance for a successful career. We have been given some hope in a new direction for a career. Also, my husband prayed with me last night to Our Lady of Lourdes and allowed me to bless him with the Holy water from Lourdes. We will continue to pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance.

When I getting ready to move I couldn’t find two very important items. Remembering the novena I said a prayer yo the Holy Spirit and within five minures I found both items.
Prayed for my mother’s recovery and she is slowly do much better after her gallbladder surgery. Pray for my mole and the doctor I was praying about helping me is going to help get it removed. he said it didn’t look too alarming, in so many words but I am still praying that it is not cancerous. Still praying for my brother to come back to receiving the sacraments. My friend, I have been praying for is getting strength for he and his special circumstances. And for our friendship growing in christ, to be pleasing to God and a future, it is unfolding slowing for us which is what God wants and it os growing in Christ. We are placing it in his hands for his will to be done and being very prayerful and both praying for purity of mind, heart, body and soul! This truly was a very powerful Novena and am very Blessed to be given signs from God and answers to prayers! Glory be to God! Blessing to All!
My wife and I had our 20 week ultrasound, and baby is healthy and happy. That prayer was answered. Still working on finding a postdoctoral position, but trust God will put me in a place he wants me to be.
I was late starting this novena and had three days to catch up on so I prayed them all at once. The next day I received consolation to one of the things I was praying for! I had a list of about six intentions and have received some sort of answer or consolation to ALL of them. Not everything has been completely resolved, but the lesson learned during this novena is that God IS listening and working in our lives. We just have to trust Him and seek Him out for help rather than trying to do everything on our own!

I had been praying for a 32 year old father of 2 who had a severe stroke, resulting in slurred speech and loss of mobility.
Doctors discovered it was NOT a stroke, but an abscess on the brain stem which had mimicked the symptoms of a stroke: slurred speech, loss of mobility. He is on high-powered antibiotics and starting rehabilitation. A temporary shunt was inserted to drain off fluid and reduce swelling. He is improving; the abscess has reduced in size.
I continue to pray for the abscess to dissolve completely and the infection to go away.” Plus, strength and courage for Michael as he goes through rehabilitation.
