Many faithful people look at politics and the election process and they think to themselves, “What’s the point?! It’s a lost cause.”
I know I’ve felt this way before! But, at the same time, our faith calls us to prayer and action in the public square. So, who better to intercede on behalf of the election than St. Jude: Patron of Lost Causes!

We will be praying our regular St. Jude Novena with some small changes and with the addition of the following election prayer:
Election Prayer
O St. Jude, please bring these election prayers to the throne of God:
I ask for the eyes to see others as sons and daughters of God. I ask for help in forming my conscience according to the Gospel so that I may both vote and act for the common good.
Give me the courage to stand up for the weakest members of society. The poor, the weak, the unborn. Give me the courage to re-examine my political loyalties and to be first a faithful follower of Jesus before I follow.
Remind me that my only true hope is in Jesus and that political power can never replace the the will of God and the mission of the Church.
For my own vote, help me to cast it in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. Help me to do it reverently and with a well formed conscience.
For these elections, Oh God, please bless us with the best leaders possible at all levels of government.
My vote is a small but important part of my Christian life. Help me to both vote and live by the Gospel putting my trust in Jesus alone.

Hi St. Jude I wold like to thank you for all the Graces that you have brought into each and every person. I would like to pray for each member of my family , that their personal intentions may be answered . I also pray for peace in my country especially at this time as we come nearer to our elections, that we may choose our leaders wisely and there may be no blood shed ever again. We pray for all the children of the world that they may grow to know and follow God and be believers. Lord I would like to pray for prosperity in my family that as we plan to start a business that we may get funds to do so and that the business may do well. I would also like to pray for my fiancee who has been unemployed for so long that he may get a well paying job and that he may stop drinking the way he has been doing and smoking as well and that we may be able to grow old together as we bring up our children with love and peace . That we may get money to support our family and also provide for them and as we start the business intended that it may flourish. Please, please, please ask Jesus to bless me with His Divine Mercy and allow me to regain my health. All this shakiness, tremors, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and hormone imbalances prevent me from living out the life He gave me. I just want to be healthy so I can serve Him out in the world, not from a place of sickness and suffering. I have suffered from this for 5 years now and I need help fast. It is so hard to work and study this way. Help me to find the right doctor(s) without going into dept, or bless the doctors I do have with the wisdom needed to decide on the right remedy. St. Jude, at times it seems impossible. Help me to not lose hope. Ask Jesus and the Holy Spirit to work through the dietician I will be speaking to tomorrow to give me the right advise. I have been saying every Novena since joining months and months ago for a job for my son. Still……no job and he is so well qualified for so many things. Has an Associate Degree, went to school on the GI Bill, has a license in refrigeration and air conditioning and worked in the construction field for almost 30 years until his company went bankrupt. He so desperately needs a job, is so depressed right now, has been looking for two years. Had a bad experience in his distant past, almost 30 years ago and it is still following him around. Please, please pray for him!
Financial help for my family.
I pray that during these very important elections all, especially Christians, will vote in accordance to scripture and not individual interests. I pray that as a country we will vote for candidates that will work to protect life from conception to death. Without life one cannot enjoy our other unalienable rights endowed by our Creator. I pray that that will be our Country’s number one priority. We must also pray for all the 55 million babies slaughtered in the name of “choice”. I am the president of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Students for Life and we are very active on campus this semester. If you could pray for a conversion of our campus to have open hearts when considering whether or not to be Pro-Life we would really appreciate it. Also, I am very passionate about being an advocate for all the victims of human trafficking. I you could please pray with me for all those victims who have been freed, I know that many of them will commit suicide because they don’t know how to go on with their lives. Please pray that they, too, choose life. After having attended the Beyond the Vote Conference this weekend I was made aware of the bullying Obama and other pro-abortionists have been doing. May it cease so that I culture of life may be cultivated. May all families who are expecting a disabled child have comfort and support and may they be encouraged to fight against their own doctors and choose life.

Our family is in financial trouble. Prayers to St. Jude not only for the election but for our family as well. Husband has not been working much lately so our next option is to remove our two children from their Catholic school which would be so hard for us to do but would have to be for financial reasons. St. Jude please pray that my son and grandson can get back together again.They have not been with each other for a year.My grandson is 12 and needs his dad.My grandson lives with his mother.I need all the prays i can get to get this problem slove and please protect all the poeple affected by the hurricane.I humbly submit my prayers to you.Amen
For fair and honest, cleansing and decisive elections of righteous, upright leaders throughout the USA; and that all Catholic voters will vote according to Holy Faith.
For the health (body and soul) of my parents and children. For our local church and it’s priest, Fr. Matt. For the elections in our area as well as our nation. Above all that we as a nation return to the love of our Lord and live according to his will.
St. Jude, please pray that all in my family who are uncertain about God will come to know Him and that their faith will flourish. I also ask that you pray for my mother, father, and stepfather who are fighting such struggles with many different emotions and addictions. Please intercede on their behalf, ask God to heal their hearts and their bodies. And one more thing I humbly ask, please pray for the safety of all affected by Hurricane Sandy. Keep them safe. I ask that you intercede for those who struggle with the addiction to pornography. For their wife/husband or girlfriend/boyfriend and for their whole family. I ask that you pray for an outpouring of courage, strength, and healing for all that struggle with any addiction. St. Jude I also ask that you would pray for the upcoming elections, the hungry and homeless, the underemployed/unemployed and for all who are abused in any way. I pray that God blesses America again and saves the Republic. I pray for all of the people who suffer from cancer. I also pray that I meet a nice woman and marry.
Dear Lord, In this novena I pray that You will act as a refuge for all who are in distress and a shelter for all who are in harm’s way during this catastrophic storm on the East Coast of the US. And an aid to those who are preparing to help to restore order in its aftermath. And most importantly, that You will this calamity to bring souls to Christ and to compassinate care for others. Amen.
