The Divine Mercy novena prayers were given to St. Faustina through an apparition of our Lord Jesus. Each day has a new petition that seeks God’s mercy for different purposes.
The message of Divine Mercy is a powerful and moving way to come closer to Christ. His Mercy is central to our lives and we must continually depend on it and ask for it daily.
So, let us join together and beg for God’s Divine Mercy together through this Divine Mercy Novena!
Divine Mercy Novena Prayers
First Day of the Divine Mercy Novena:
Intention: Today bring to Me ALL MANKIND, ESPECIALLY ALL SINNERS, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me.
Novena Prayers: Most Merciful Jesus, whose very nature it is to have compassion on us and to forgive us, do not look upon our sins but upon our trust which we place in Your infinite goodness. Receive us all into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart, and never let us escape from It. We beg this of You by Your love which unites You to the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon all mankind and especially upon poor sinners, all enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion show us Your mercy, that we may praise the omnipotence of Your mercy for ever and ever.
Amen.
Second Day of the Divine Mercy Novena:
Intention: Today bring to Me THE SOULS OF PRIESTS AND RELIGIOUS, and immerse them in My unfathomable mercy. It was they who gave Me strength to endure My bitter Passion. Through them as through channels My mercy flows out upon mankind.
Novena Prayers: Most Merciful Jesus, from whom comes all that is good, increase Your grace in men and women consecrated to Your service,* that they may perform worthy works of mercy; and that all who see them may glorify the Father of Mercy who is in heaven.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the company of chosen ones in Your vineyard—upon the souls of priests and religious; and endow them with the strength of Your blessing. For the love of the Heart of Your Son in which they are enfolded, impart to them Your power and light, that they may be able to guide others in the way of salvation and with one voice sing praise to Your boundless mercy for ages without end.
Amen.
Third Day of the Divine Mercy Novena:
Intention: Today bring to Me ALL DEVOUT AND FAITHFUL SOULS, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me.
Novena Prayers: Most Merciful Jesus, from the treasury of Your mercy, You impart Your graces in great abundance to each and all. Receive us into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart and never let us escape from It. We beg this grace of You by that most wonderous love for the heavenly Father with which Your Heart burns so fiercely.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon faithful souls, as upon the inheritance of Your Son. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, grant them Your blessing and surround them with Your constant protection. Thus may they never fail in love or lose the treasure of the holy faith, but rather, with all the hosts of Angels and Saints, may they glorify Your boundless mercy for endless ages.
Amen.
Fourth Day of the Divine Mercy Novena:
Intention: Today bring to Me THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD* AND THOSE WHO DO NOT YET KNOW ME. I was thinking also of them during My bitter Passion, and their future zeal comforted My Heart. Immerse them in the ocean of My mercy.
Novena Prayers: Most compassionate Jesus, You are the Light of the whole world. Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who do not believe in God and of those who as yet do not know You. Let the rays of Your grace enlighten them that they, too, together with us, may extol Your wonderful mercy; and do not let them escape from the abode which is Your Most Compassionate Heart.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of those who do not believe in You, and of those who as yet do not know You, but who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Draw them to the light of the Gospel. These souls do not know what great happiness it is to love You. Grant that they, too, may extol the generosity of Your mercy for endless ages.
Amen.
Fifth Day of the Divine Mercy Novena:
Intention: Today bring to Me THE SOULS OF THOSE WHO HAVE SEPARATED THEMSELVES FROM MY CHURCH,* and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. During My bitter Passion they tore at My Body and Heart, that is, My Church. As they return to unity with the Church, My wounds heal and in this way they alleviate My Passion.
Novena Prayers: Most Merciful Jesus, Goodness Itself, You do not refuse light to those who seek it of You. Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who have separated themselves from Your Church. Draw them by Your light into the unity of the Church, and do not let them escape from the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart; but bring it about that they, too, come to glorify the generosity of Your mercy.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of those who have separated themselves from Your Son’s Church, who have squandered Your blessings and misused Your graces by obstinately persisting in their errors. Do not look upon their errors, but upon the love of Your own Son and upon His bitter Passion, which He underwent for their sake, since they, too, are enclosed in His Most Compassionate Heart. Bring it about that they also may glorify Your great mercy for endless ages.
Amen.
Sixth Day of the Divine Mercy Novena:
Intention: Today bring to Me THE MEEK AND HUMBLE SOULS AND THE SOULS OF LITTLE CHILDREN, and immerse them in My mercy. These souls most closely resemble My Heart. They strengthened Me during My bitter agony. I saw them as earthly Angels, who will keep vigil at My altars. I pour out upon them whole torrents of grace. Only the humble soul is capable of receiving My grace. I favor humble souls with My confidence.
Novena Prayers: Most Merciful Jesus, You yourself have said, “Learn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart.” Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart all meek and humble souls and the souls of little children. These souls send all heaven into ecstasy and they are the heavenly Father’s favorites. They are a sweet-smelling bouquet before the throne of God; God Himself takes delight in their fragrance. These souls have a permanent abode in Your Most Compassionate Heart, O Jesus, and they unceasingly sing out a hymn of love and mercy.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon meek souls, upon humble souls, and upon little children who are enfolded in the abode which is the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls bear the closest resemblance to Your Son. Their fragrance rises from the earth and reaches Your very throne. Father of mercy and of all goodness, I beg You by the love You bear these souls and by the delight You take in them: Bless the whole world, that all souls together may sing out the praises of Your mercy for endless ages.
Amen.
Seventh Day of the Divine Mercy Novena:
Intention: Today bring to Me THE SOULS WHO ESPECIALLY VENERATE AND GLORIFY MY MERCY,* and immerse them in My mercy. These souls sorrowed most over my Passion and entered most deeply into My spirit. They are living images of My Compassionate Heart. These souls will shine with a special brightness in the next life. Not one of them will go into the fire of hell. I shall particularly defend each one of them at the hour of death.
Novena Prayers: Most Merciful Jesus, whose Heart is Love Itself, receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who particularly extol and venerate the greatness of Your mercy. These souls are mighty with the very power of God Himself. In the midst of all afflictions and adversities they go forward, confident of Your mercy; and united to You, O Jesus, they carry all mankind on their shoulders. These souls will not be judged severely, but Your mercy will embrace them as they depart from this life.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls who glorify and venerate Your greatest attribute, that of Your fathomless mercy, and who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls are a living Gospel; their hands are full of deeds of mercy, and their hearts, overflowing with joy, sing a canticle of mercy to You, O Most High! I beg You O God:
Show them Your mercy according to the hope and trust they have placed in You. Let there be accomplished in them the promise of Jesus, who said to them that during their life, but especially at the hour of death, the souls who will venerate this fathomless mercy of His, He, Himself, will defend as His glory.
Amen.
Eighth Day of the Divine Mercy Novena:
Intention: Today bring to Me THE SOULS WHO ARE DETAINED IN PURGATORY, and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. Let the torrents of My Blood cool down their scorching flames. All these souls are greatly loved by Me. They are making retribution to My justice. It is in your power to bring them relief. Draw all the indulgences from the treasury of My Church and offer them on their behalf. Oh, if you only knew the torments they suffer, you would continually offer for them the alms of the spirit and pay off their debt to My justice.
Novena Prayers: Most Merciful Jesus, You Yourself have said that You desire mercy; so I bring into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls in Purgatory, souls who are very dear to You, and yet, who must make retribution to Your justice. May the streams of Blood and Water which gushed forth from Your Heart put out the flames of Purgatory, that there, too, the power of Your mercy may be celebrated.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls suffering in Purgatory, who are enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. I beg You, by the sorrowful Passion of Jesus Your Son, and by all the bitterness with which His most sacred Soul was flooded: Manifest Your mercy to the souls who are under Your just scrutiny. Look upon them in no other way but only through the Wounds of Jesus, Your dearly beloved Son; for we firmly believe that there is no limit to Your goodness and compassion.
Amen.
Ninth Day of the Divine Mercy Novena:
Intention: Today bring to Me SOULS WHO HAVE BECOME LUKEWARM,* and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. These souls wound My Heart most painfully. My soul suffered the most dreadful loathing in the Garden of Olives because of lukewarm souls. They were the reason I cried out: ‘Father, take this cup away from Me, if it be Your will.’ For them, the last hope of salvation is to run to My mercy.
Novena Prayers: Most compassionate Jesus, You are Compassion Itself. I bring lukewarm souls into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart. In this fire of Your pure love, let these tepid souls, who, like corpses, filled You with such deep loathing, be once again set aflame. O Most Compassionate Jesus, exercise the omnipotence of Your mercy and draw them into the very ardor of Your love, and bestow upon them the gift of holy love, for nothing is beyond Your power.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon lukewarm souls who are nonetheless enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Father of Mercy, I beg You by the bitter Passion of Your Son and by His three-hour agony on the Cross: Let them, too, glorify the abyss of Your mercy.
Amen.

Divine Mercy Novena Prayers from Diary of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska: Divine Mercy in My Soul © 1987 Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, Stockbridge, MA 01263. Used with permission.
This Novena is really powerful.. God answered my prayers.. i passed the board exam! thank you for posting this.. godbless us all!
Oh yea and with out god in the center of your relationship its hard to work out. My x has found god now I need him to need me and for us to pray together. Thank you Jesus for dying for our sins and please heal everyone from there pain.
I would like to remind everyone that if your praying for a relationship always remember that god has given everyone there own free will. This prayer is not a magical thing. It’s a devotion. I too am going through a had time and I don’t want to pray for my x to come back to me unless he loves me. If he doesn’t love me we will end up split up again. I only ask god to put love back in his heart and to see how much I love him and that we as in me and our children need him and his love. God can’t make anyone love anyone but only put them in situations to put them on there knees. He has done that to me. I gave my heart to Christ and I will allow him to place it in the right man’s hands, with hope of him seeing it fit being my x and for him to see that he has love for me. I hope this helps those who have given up due to relationships. Never give up always know some of gods greatest gifts are his unanswered prayers :)

Say and believe: with God ALL Things as possible. Faith is the key!
I can’t remember exactly what I prayed the Divine Mercy Novena for. However I do know that many graces were bestowed upon us around that time. It seemed as though things started building to a crescendo of graces as the week went on. April 29th was to feast of St. Catherine of Sienna who was my Confirmation Saint, April 30th was our 7th anniversary of returning to the Catholic Church. May 1st was Divine Mercy Sunday, the Beatification of JP2 and the feast of St. Joseph (mine and my husband’s great patron and guide.) After our parish’s Divine Mercy service, we were given a first class relic of St. Faustina to keep at home for two days (why we got the relic and no one else, I have no idea.) On May 2nd was my spiritual direction appointment. On may 3rd it was my birthday and we left for the Divine Mercy Medical conference in Worcester MA. On the way up we stopped at the JP2 exhibit at the Knights of Columbus Museum in New Haven CT. That night we met with my good friend and new Godson who live in RI (and we rarely get to see) and who was instrumental in our re-version to Catholicism. She gave me “Consoling the Heart of Jesus,” a wonderful book focused on Divine Mercy, St. Ignatius, and who’s author has a great devotion to St. Therese, all my favorites. The medical conference was an amazing confirmation to the spiritual call that my husband and I both feel as medical professionals and Catholics. Then on the way home we stopped at the “Shrine of the North American Martyrs” and learned the amazing story of St. Isaac Jogues and his companions. I know all of these things were scheduled and for some, the whole world experienced the graces but I could not help but sense God’s personal love and grace for me because of the way all of my most favorite Saints and devotions came together in such a short span of a week or so. I’m still savoring it all and thanking God for his most Merciful, Sacred Heart of love.
May 9th my husband Larry woke up and was acting very unlike himself. He was confused and kind of agitated and having a hard time using his cell phone to call his work number. We took him to the hospital. The doc ran tests on him, X-rays, blood work, etc. He was dehydrated from the pills his liver doctor gave him after he blew up like a balloon. He started to get better at the hospital and they sent him home. May 10th he was worse, more confused, I took him to the doctor. Dr. Patel said “I know exactly what is wrong with you” Larry’s liver had stopped working and had sent ammonia to his brain. The doc gave him a sample pill to help him at the office and sent us to the pharmacy for meds. I got them in him and after a few hours the man that I was married to had his mind back. Dear God thank you for Dr. Patel and the meds and for all the prayers that poured forth from all our family members and the Mercy of Jesus. Thank you Jesus for saving Larry.
I said this novena about running well in a race and about a friendship that I had with someone. I ran well in the race and I have had some great conversations with this particular person and it’s been awesome! St. Faustina is like my lawyer–she always advocates for mercy on my behalf, and boy does she deliver! AMDG!
On Mother’s Day I received the answer to my prayers….the week after I finished saying the Divine Mercy Novena,…..one of my grandaughters who had been estranged from her parents….has returned home….She is now carrying her rosary with her @ all times….what a wonderful gift this has been for all the family…..Thank you Jesus ….
Our Merciful God always answers my prayers, He protect us from accidents, from dangers of body and soul, from visible and invisible enemies, and being close to Him brings us happiness. God answers prayers.
My prayers wasn’t answered but I have to tell you that something happened to me during the Divine Mercy Chaplet on Divine Mercy Sunday…I had been very ill all week and Sunday my husband wanted to go and we had to drive two hour there and back.during the Praying the Divine Mercy in Song I started crying and I didn’t stopped until it was over.I felt so sad ,as if I was feeling Jesus’ pains for the sinners.Tears were just flowing out of me but I truly enjoyed it all .It was all worth it.I endured it for Jesus. It was His Mercy we were praying for for the sinners of the whole world.
All pryers are answered, sometimes we don’t get the answer we want and sometimes not at the timeline we want. Praying is a great way to be in touch with God, and remember he is always ther. This site is wonderful becuase it helps remind us to keep in touch with God.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to shared with those who have no access to a computer! It is greatly appreciated by many unnamed persons!!!
I have prayed for family and friends that have special needs and I enjoy the replys from others experiences. I share these comment/replys with others who need to hear about them but haved no access to a computer! Your website gives me that opportunity, so in a way you are answering many prayers that seemed to have been unanswered. I truly appreciate this knowledge and prays that I am given the opportunity to share my faith with others. Thank you!
I have been praying the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy since last year, then lately, I prayed the Novena to the Divine Mercy. Yes, God answered all my prayers: he has restored our broken relationship, the passing and topping of my son during the Board Exam last year (it was an answered prayer. We prayed the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and visited nine (9) churches prior to the board exam. The spiritual healing of my husband is an anwered prayer. He was a lost soul when he betrayed me in our married life. He was telling me he found a new love and don’t love me anymore. We experienced darkness during the betrayal. I was devastated, and suffered insomia and depression. We were in crisis. Our children were deeply hurt. My husband lost his job. In the grace of the Lord, I was able to forgive him. Now he has found himself and he is back serving the Lord during the Holy Mass through the lay ministry starting the Easter Sunday this year. He was also able to earn income through self-employment. God restored and mended our broken self- we now prayed together and express our love for each other. He is healed spiritually. Our children are now happy seeing us together. We had a family reunion early this year. With this experience in our life, I am convinced that I am privileged to know more of Jesus coming into our life journeying with us everyday, every moment. I believe everything that happens has a purpose. Now, my husband and I are involved in a religious community- a healing ministry which involves the healing of the family tree. God continue to shower us tremendous blessings: material, physical and spiritual.
my prayers were answered through this Novena of Divine Mercy Chaplet: i am asking the Lord to Heal me because i haven’t been feeling well for 3 weeks, and when Easter came i was ok …
The Divine Chaplet Novena has increased my faith. It has released lots of tension that I usually carry with me. The prayer is very powerful and I am very glad to have prayed with all of you. God Bless.
My prayer was answered as I got off the wait-list and was accepted into the University of San Diego. Thanks for giving me information about the novena,Stefan.
I’m not Catholic, but I love the chaplet of mercy and love praying novena’s. The reminders from this website are wonderful. Its a very powerful healing prayer. I typically use to pray for those who are physically ill or spiritually suffering. They also buffer my own faith.
Peace.
As I began each day of the Novena I began to see not only this true servant of God, Blessed John Paul II but truly how thru the Devine Mercy that thru the intercessions in communion with our Church I will truly know peace. As a military contracted Casualty Officer I meet those families in the worst of their moment of their lives. The lost of a love one to a war or place they don’t understand. My faith and prayers will continue for all of them. However, due to constant political and management decisions for nearly 3 years and most recent denying me leave without pay to go the St Michael’s Military Pilgrimage due to no leave is unexceptable. I was counseled and with much humilation too. I went into prayer and knew thru the Novena I found a peace of comfort that I never knew with all these concerns. How silly for me to think that His trust in carrying for me would not be there. I am reminded thru the Scriptures of 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one in power, love and sound judgment”. Although we walk in our faith and spiritual journey I did not with all praying this Novena. I know my blessings are gifts and I am humbled by this He has given freely to us. I ask for your prayers as hundreds of Wounded Soldiers whether physical or in faith arrive at Lourdes next week. Pray for the Nurses, Doctors and priest that will be traveling for us. I will keep you all in prayer at the Grotto Of Lourdes. If you want intentions please send to my email at centeredinfaith@gmail.com This will remain private and we will pray over them prior to placing them at the Grotto. God’s Graces to all
This is my favorite novena to do! I think that the gift of the Divine Mercy chaplet and novena is priceless. I just can’t get over how generous and, well, frankly, merciful it is.
This year, as usual, I tacked on a whole bunch of my intentions along with the ones Jesus asked of St. Faustina for each day. I know the Lord is working on each of them, but He has decided that one of my intentions should begin to have its answer now. It won’t seem like something big to others, but for me, it is. The intention involved a situation that, frankly, I didn’t know how to pray for anymore. I had kind of resolved myself to what it was going to be, even though my heart was against it. On Divine Mercy Sunday, I noticed a movement of grace in my heart. It began as something very small, but it stayed with me throughout the day until I recognized it as the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart. The Holy Spirit gave my heart a nudge concerning this intention, and suddenly I knew how He wanted me to pray for the situation. It was such a relief to have assurance that He knew what was going on and had a certain way He wanted me to pray. Also, just knowing of His knowledge has been so healing for me because the situation (difficult as it was/is) caused some damage in my heart concerning God’s love for me. I felt He was upset with me for my feelings towards the situation, and began to feel He loved me less. So, this answer, given to me on Divine Mercy Sunday, was such a grace to my heart, and I continue to be so grateful. I just know my prayers are exactly as He wants me to be praying them!
Please pray that the funding for the evangelization works I presently do will be realized. There is much work to be done and I know that God, in His time, will grant me the grace to be worthy to receive His marvelous blessings. Availability of this fund will greatly help in our enlarging the implementation of our evangelization programs to reach more Christians. Please include us in your prayers.

From past 2 n half months i was trying for a job in my dream company i attend all the rounds now they told they have kept my resume on hold, they also told i may or may not get the job too. I waited for 2 months for that job i cant digest if i dont get tht job which i was longing for. I don want them to say a no to me cos i had been waiting for 2 n half months for tht job and prayed more harder. Pls pray for me that i get a call from them as soon as possible n they call me to work from 16th may itself.
Keep the faith, Willie. There may be something more for you to learn. My daughter and I have a strained relationship. She has cut off all communication with me. I prayed through Pope JP II that I hear from her, but did not. I have to keep the faith. Divine Mercy means that in difficult moments we will not despair nor become despondent but with great confidence and trust submit ourselves to God’s Holy Will which is love and mercy itself.
hi. thanks for those sweet words.. Pls pray for me. i really need a call from tht company.
My daughter received her First Communion a few years back on Divine Mercy Sunday. She was recently experiencing problems at school being bullied by another girl. The girl (bully) had been talked to by the school counselor, her mother and many of the school classmates to no avail. I thought it would be appropriate to pray the Novena for my daughter, the other girl and all the girls in her class. I am proud to say the Good Lord touched this child’s heart. My daughter found the words to say to her and she has stopped harassing my daughter (after 1 month of this ordeal) and they are working on being friends.
Terima kasih Tuhan Yesus, dengan belas kasihMu keluargaku sudah Kau ubahkan.
The novena prayer, and all prayers are answered. The answer to my request to allow a change in my life to be for the best, was answered. I now have to make my confession and go on.
This Novena for me was very helpfull, I need some prayer, especialy for my family, I want to thank you for posting it on the website, which makes things more easy, and help me to feel close to pray with other people.
Thank you for this great work. God bless you, and keep you in His care…
My sister never prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet although I told her so many times about it – but she has started praying the Chaplet after the feast of divine mercy so that’s great news …praise the Lord !!
I have started yesterday with a St. Jude Novena, to fix my ex fiance and my relationship so that we can love each other as we did and continue our wedding and marriage plans. I have forgiven my ex for what he has done to me and i am praying to St. Jude to help me in this despaired case. I ask of you to please pray with me, so that our relationship can be healed. I really love this man and i know that God has given him to me as my husband on earth. Please pray for us.
I prayed harder than I ever have but I started on the night before Divine Mercy. I was suddenly overcome with emotion and had to. I feel so sorry for being so lukewarm even though I have no excuse. I can’t blame ignorance or lack of knowledge, since my mom has turned to God and sent me emails on this. I was simply “too busy”. I have no excuse and I want to thank you for posting this. May God Bless you abundantly. Thank you.
This novena is great! I actually did this novena for 9 days in row. Thank you for this great, easy to use website!!!!!!
Zach, thanks for joining in prayer!
