In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Most Holy Apostle, St. Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of his enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors you, and we invoke you as the special advocate of those who are in trouble and almost without hope. Help us to realize that through our faith we triumph over life's difficulties by the power of Jesus who loved us and gave his life for us. Day 1: PRAYER IN TIME OF SERIOUS ILLNESS
Lord God, giver of life, you created us in your image to know you, to love you, and to serve you in this world and to live in happiness with you forever. We come to you now in great need of your help. We pray for those seriously ill, for whom the outcome is uncertain, and who are anxious and afraid as they wait for answers.
Your Son, Jesus Christ, called St. Jude to be an apostle, and gave him authority to heal the sick. Through the intercession of St. Jude, grant them some portion of that healing, and if it is your will, restore them to health. At this difficult time, help them make wise decisions about medical care and treatment. Guide all those responsible for their care.
Lord God, you are nearer to us than we are to ourselves. May all who suffer in mind, body, or spirit be ever more conscious of your presence. Through the saving grace of the Sacraments, unite them more closely to you and to all who suffer. All this we ask through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.

Day 2: PRAYER FOR A MISSIONARY SPIRIT
St. Jude, like a fire ever burning, God's love compelled you to reach out, involving yourself with people everywhere. Give us this same missionary spirit.
We know our faith is not just for ourselves. Help us join with our brothers and sisters to share our relationship with the Lord every day so that as more men and women come to know and love the Lord, our world may become a more loving place. May any fearful self-concern we have be overcome by the example of St. Jude's apostolic fervor. Let love inspire us also to share Jesus, our Savior and our Brother, freely and enthusiastically. Amen.

Day 3: PRAYER FOR EMPLOYMENT
Our hope is in you, O God, and you never fail to listen with a Father's love and concern. We come to you now in this time of great need for those anxious to find work. They are uneasy, fearful, and filled with worry, at times ashamed. In dark moments, they may despair, doubting the talents, skills, and very self-worth you have given each of them.
Through the intercession of St. Jude, patron of those in desperate need, help all find rewarding work. Renew in each of them a sense of purpose and courage. Quiet their fears, strengthen their self-confidence, and guide their efforts to find work.
Lord God, you are the source of our gifts and talents, entrusted to us to be used wisely. May we always fervently believe in your everlasting care for each of us, never ceasing to praise you. We ask this in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, both now and forever.

SOLEMN NOVENA PRAYER
Day 4: PRAYER FOR NON-PRACTICING CHILDREN
Lord God, the love of a parent for a child is only outmatched by Your love. For each person is created by Your love and by Your love is sustained. So great is Your love for each and every child that You sent Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, to ransom their souls from eternal death and extend to them the great honor of adoption as Your sons and daughters through Baptism. We pray now for our children who have abandoned the practice of the faith and left the Church.
St Jude, who died out of love for Christ, we who would die to protect and prosper our children seek your intercession on behalf of our children who have wandered away from Christ and His Church. We suffer as our beloved children ignore or reject that which would lead to their happiness in this life and the next. Help our children to encounter Jesus again and to experience His love.
Lord God, as You were able to restore the faith in St. Jude who abandoned Jesus after His arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane, we ask you to touch the hearts of our children so that their faith might also be restored. And may our prayers and sacrifices on behalf of our children find favor with You, Who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. Amen.

Day 5: PRAYER FOR PEOPLE IN CONFLICT
Lord God, the first words to St. Jude and Your disciples after Your resurrection were "Peace be with you." Time and again, You dispense to Your disciples the peace which surpasses all understanding. May the Holy Spirit grant to us that same peace so that we might not be at war within ourselves or in conflict with others.
Through the intercession of St. Jude, may all peoples experience the peace of Christ and so bring peace to the world. May the hearts that long for worldly recognition and advancement be at peace in seeking God above all things. May the hearts that long for material goods be at peace and seek to store up treasures in heaven where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal. May hearts that long for love be at peace in the knowledge that we love because God first loved us. We ask this with confidence through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Day 6: PRAYER IN FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES
Lord Jesus, you said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest." We come to you now, Lord, on behalf of all those burdened by financial concerns, filled with worry and fear. They have gotten to this place of need because of reasons both in and out of their control. At times they have made poor choices. At other times, unexpected events have left them unable to pay for their needs.
We bring this burden to you, Lord, and ask through the intercession of St. Jude that you help those in need find ways to solve their financial problems. Lord Jesus, as we all rely on your help and the prayers of St. Jude, may we never forget that nothing can separate us from your love and mercy. We make this prayer in your name, Lord Jesus, for you live with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and for ages unending. Amen.

Day 7: PRAYER IN TIMES OF MARITAL DIFFICULTIES
Lord God, giver of life, in your divine plan you desire that man and woman leave father and mother to become one flesh in marriage. Marriage is your gift to us, and Christ blesses all who live and love in this way. We come to you Lord on behalf of those with problems in their marriage. We especially come before you in prayer on behalf of those for whom all hope seems lost.
Where there was friendship, there is now hostility; where there was harmony, this is now conflict; where there was joy, there is now sorrow.
Lord God, through the intercession of St. Jude, the patron of those in desperate need, we call upon your help. Show those in need how to find a way out of this difficult time. Comfort them in their brokenness. Heal their wounds. Give them strength to overcome their weaknesses. Teach them your way of forgiveness. Where harsh words and judgments cloud their minds and close their hearts, give them courage to be open to love once again.
Gracious God, rekindle that flame of love by which they pledged themselves to each other, that together they may praise you who are Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Day 8: PRAYER FOR SAFETY IN DANGEROUS TIMES
Apostle of Christ St. Jude Thaddeus who was murdered for the practice of his faith as he traveled preaching the gospel, we turn to you now as we live through our own dangerous times. When going to work may lead to our death. When spending time with loved ones may harm those we love or even lead to our own death. When being stopped by the police may lead to our violent death. When social unrest and riots may lead to the loss of our home or property. We turn to you now and seek your powerful intercession on our behalf.
Apostle and Martyr St. Jude Thaddeus, who spoke to Our Lord Jesus during His earthly ministry and who now eternally adores the Christ in heaven, plead for us now in this our time of desperate need. Pray that some measure of the peace of the Kingdom of God might be enjoyed here and now so that we might seek God with single hearted devotion and not be distracted by fear or anxiety. We ask this with confidence of You Heavenly Father, for we do so by the mighty intercession of the Apostle and Martyr St. Jude Thaddeus and Your Son Jesus, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. Amen.

St. Jude, patron of hope for the hopeless, desperate cases, and lost causes, we turn to you in this our time of need. Whether by reasons of health, heart, or home we cannot see a way forward. Whether by reasons of employment, finances, or education we cannot see a positive outcome. Whether by reasons of persecution, falsehood, or the self-interest of others we cannot see how justice may be obtained. We turn to you in this moment, St. Jude, and seek your aid and assistance.
Most Holy Apostle, St. Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of his enemies has caused you to be unjustly forgotten by many. May we who invoke your power to free and loose, to bind and unbind, to bless and curse, know your favor and receive satisfaction by your powerful intercession on our behalf. You who eternally plead for us before the mighty throne of God, the Father Almighty who lives and reigns with the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
