There are many instances in which we might be in need of courage. We need courage to make difficult decisions that could lead to suffering. We also need courage to stand up for the truth or to fight for what is right.
When we face persecution for our Faith, we need courage to persevere and to choose to endure suffering for the sake of God. Sometimes these sufferings can be very severe or could even lead us to die for our Faith. We need courage continually when we are persecuted for our Faith. And we can be certain that God will reward us for practicing the virtue of courage when we face such difficulties in our lives.
We can gain grace to practice the virtue of courage for ourselves or for others by praying for this grace. Let’s offer prayers in the Novena for Courage, that all who are in need of courage may gain the grace to practice courage!

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Lord God, we thank You and praise You for the many ways You bless us and sustain us in our lives. We ask You to grant the grace of courage to all who are in need of it.
There are many dangers in our fallen world. There are many things that could physically harm us and that frighten us. We are in great need of courage to face these dangers, especially in moments when we must courageously face them for the good of another person.
We ask You to bless and assist all who are in need of courage, and we particularly ask You today to grant courage to all who are facing physical dangers!
Help us to rely on You more fully in all of our needs. Help us to grow in our relationship with You each day.

We ask You to bless and assist all who are in need of courage, and we particularly ask You today to grant courage to all who are being called to fight against injustice!

It is often very difficult to be courageous in the face of physical danger or other threats to our happiness. We do not always act with virtue when we’re faced with such difficulties, but You can help us to act courageously at every opportunity we face from now on.

Help us to do all we can to be Your faithful disciples each day of our lives. Help us to always put love of You above all else, no matter how difficult it might be.
